5 reasons your dog runs away from you
We all know how frustrating it can be when your dog won’t
come when he’s called – or indeed, runs the other way! Why is this?
In this article on PetMD.com, they suggest 5 reasons for
this:
1. The
dog was punished in the past – for not coming to you when called;
2. You
sounded angry when you called him;
3. The
dog was trained to come to you in limited environments
4. He
knows the fun is over in the park!
5. You
repeat the word ‘come’ (or whichever word you use) too much.
You should always praise your dog when he starts to come
to you and when he arrives – so it’s a positive experience for him – and he’s
more likely to do it again! For more
